In April, 15-year-old Anne Chen helped her high school win a regional golf championship.

In July, she'll tee off at the LPGA Women's U.S.Open.

It's been quite a year for Chen, who will be a sophomore when school resumes at Sugarland, Texas-based Clements High School.

It was her fifth-place finish at the Southern Texas Section Junior PGA Championship at Augusta Pines that qualified her for the Women's U.S.Open.The teenager shot a five-under-par 67 was the day's best on June 9 as players struggled with the Player Course.

Chen was already three-under when she played into a bunker on the seventh hole, the 16th of her 18-hole round.She knocked it out of the sand and into the hole for an eagle.

"When you first do it when you're younger, it's more of a dream than a reality," said Chen. "Once you get older you realize, maybe you can do it."

Chen's father, Byron, will caddy for his daughter at the Open, which is schedule for July 13 to 16 at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

"That will keep me positive and help me through the round," said the teenager.

Chen will be joined at Trump National by a second automatic qualifier, West Chester, Ohio's Marissa Steen, who tied Chen for fith place at the qualifier.
