Bernhard Langer, 59, enters the record books as the first player to achieve victory on all five senior major tournaments on the over-50 Champions tour.

Langer's one-stroke win over Vijay Singh at the Senior PGA Championship cemented his place as the winningest golfer on the senior tour.

Langer finished the tourney 18 under par with a final round of 68, beating Singh by a single stroke to win the tournament.

It's all in a day's work for Langer, who already secured a place in the record books when he became golf's first worldwide number-one player in 1986.

"It means a great deal," Langer says. "We play to win, especially majors. Now to have surpassed Jack Nicklaus in majors on this tour is pretty unique."

Langer now counts nine senior major victories among his 32 Champions tour wins. The Senior PGA Championship win follows a decisive five-stroke victory at the Regions Tradition.

"To win back-to-back majors is really hard to do," Langer says.

"I was really tired, aching," the champion says. "I got something in my hip joint about six holes ago, which was pretty painful, but I'm just so blessed."
